Hanako Yamada

Hanako Yamada is 20 years-old and the middle child of the Yamada sisters. She is a passionate and determined woman who excels in combat, particularly when situations become…messy.

Hanako's preferred weapons are the bladed fan and swords of all types. Hanako's life did not start with the Yamada family: Her mother worked in the red-light districts of one of Rokugawa's port cities, and her father was an adventurer from a foreign land. Hanako's mixed heritage made her an illegitimate child, and she wound up left to die in a haunted forest due to certain stigmas surrounding her. Fortunately, she was found by the head of the Yamada family and she was adopted into both the family and their shinobi clan.

When she was initiated as a member of the Akabana, she was given the name "Hanako" by her adopted parents and was quickly taken to by their oldest daughter, Tomoko. While most members of the family accepted Hanako, some struggled to accept a foreigner’s bastard child.
Eager to prove herself, Hanako devoted herself heavily to learning the shadow arts of the Akabana clan, discovering a strong affinity for combat, particularly with bladed fan and swords. She also employs espionage and subterfuge, particularly with her exotic beauty, to accomplish her missions.

Despite facing adversity, her two lovely sisters, Tomoko and Yukiko, treat her as one of their own and always have her side whenever her heritage calls her competence or presence into question. Hanako strives not only to be strong enough to overcome her circumstances but also to motivate and encourage others to be the best they can be.
